Disappearing Bees: Why Should the Human Race Care?
As many of you may or may not have noticed the honey bees have recently been disappearing. The cause of the the death of these rather helpful creatures is a complete mystery to scientists and though many people are indifferent or even joyful about these events concern has risen among scientists. So why should we care? The answer is all around you... Without these helpful little bees, spreading pollen to other flowers, the plant may not fruit there for the price of that item goes up drastically. As well as price increase these cherished food items have gradually started to deplete... and as the honey bees die off these resources will eventually also die off. Scientists have also looked at bumble bees and alfalfa leaf cutter bees as pollinators however those are also declining in number. If the bees disappear not only our healthiest foods will deplete but so will many of our other foods. So next time a busy bee buzzes past think before you kill it out of fear of being stung.
